On Saturday’s rebroadcast, we feature violinist Tabitha Oh, who studied at the University of Chicago Laboratory High School. She studied the violin with Desiree Ruhstrat of the Grammy-nominated Lincoln Trio. Tabitha was a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra for four years where she served as one of three concertmasters. Her awards included first place in the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation Competion, Society of American Musicians Competition, Sejong Competition, the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and the Music Festival in Honor of Confucius Competiton.
Tabitha has toured as the assistant concertmaster of the inaugural National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, where she toured Washington DC, London, Moscow and St. Petersburg with maestro Valery Gergiev and soloist Joshua Bell. In previous years, Tabitha also participated in the Chicago Youth in Music Festival with Richardo Muti and the Cassalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy.
Tabitha is a student at Princeton University.
