Natalie Nedvetsky, 15, is a piano student at the Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago where she studies with Elaine Felder.
Natalie is a laureate of numerous local and international piano competitions. She made her concerto debut at the age of 11 with the American Music festivals Orchestra conducted by Maestro Philip Simmons. At age 13 Natalie was recognized as a Citizen Musician by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and participated in a community outreach program with Mr. Yo Yo Ma.
In 2011 and 2012 Natalie performed in an international chamber music festival Musica Mundi in Waterloo, Belgium. In the past season Natalie became a laureate in the Crain-Maling Chicago Symphony Orchestra Youth Auditions and performed as a soloist in a master class with Menahem Pressler, in the Rising Stars series at the Harris Theater in Chicago and in the “Keys to the City” festival hosted by Emmanuel Ax in the Chicago Orchestra Hall Armour stage.
In November 2012 Natalie won first place in a senior division of Music Teachers National Association piano competition and will be advancing to a regional competition in January 2013. Her most recent concert appearances were in master classes with pianists Joyce Yang and HJ Lim and in an International Beethoven Project Festival in Chicago. Natalie has been awarded Merit Scholarship at the Music Institute of Chicago since 2010. Natalie attends Chicagoland Jewish High School in Deerfield, IL where she is enrolled in a dual curriculum advanced academic and Jewish studies program.
In her free time Natalie enjoys reading historical fiction and writing poetry.
