Joseph Ehrenpreis is an 18 year old classical guitarist from Skokie, Illinois. He began his studies in classical music at age 8 when he studied cello with his father. Based on a family passion for classical music, Joseph began serious study of classical guitar with his teacher Ben McMunn of DePaul University at age 13.
In his senior year of high school, Joseph was admitted as a scholarship student to Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Dr. Michael Kudirka. He has studied privately with the young Scottish guitar virtuoso Ian Watt on Skype. This past summer Joseph received lessons in technical studies with Professor Pamela Kimmel of Roosevelt University.
He has taken Master Classes with Jorge Amaral, Stevan Jovic, Bill Kanengiser, and the Texas Guitar Quartet, and Jeremy Collins.
Joseph will be attending the Cleveland Institute of Music as a freshman this fall as a music performance major in guitar with Jason Vieaux.
