Hannah Kay, 17, piano

17 year old pianist Hannah Kay of Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL.

Hannah is 17 years old and a senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. Since commencing her study of piano with Brenda Huang ten years ago, she has won numerous awards from the Society of American Musicians (most recently, 2010 Senior Division 1st place) and the Chinese Fine Arts Society (2009 Senior Division 2nd place),  She received an Honorable Mention in the 2010 Emilio de Rosario Concerto Competition, Senior Division. With Andrew Ly, she placed first in the 2010 Chicago Piano-Duo Festival Competition.  Hannah was honored as a 2009 Finalist at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Auditions and performed at The Symphony Center. In October 2009, she was a guest soloist in the Skokie Library Young Artists Series. Her other interests include following the Yankees and playing volleyball.

Hannah, as pianist for The Midwest Young Artists’ (MYA) Trio Bravo, has performed at The Symphony Center, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Skokie Library Young Artists Series. Trio Bravo was a Quarter Finalist in 2011 and a Semi-Finalist in 2010 at the Fischoff National Chamber Competition, an Honorable Mention at the 2010 MYA Chamber Competition and was awarded the 2008 Virginia G. Behrendt Scholarship through CFAS.
